The purpose of ideological and political education in universities is to cultivate socialist builders and successors who are fully developed in morality, intellect, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor. Among these, the cultivation of the consciousness of the Chinese national community is regarded as a key element. This paper explores the connotation and significance of the consciousness of the Chinese national community, analyzes its logical framework as an important content in the teaching of ideological and political courses in universities, and proposes practical approaches for integrating the consciousness of the Chinese national community into such teaching.
