    [abstract] =>  Proverbs in English and Uzbek are compared, and the they analyze the expression of specific customs and traditions of the people. Their similarities are revealed in the commentary. Emphasis is placed on proverbs whose pragmatic nature has not been analyzed. The semantic similarities created by the meanings of words with similarities and differences in unrelated languages are revealed.
