Abstract

This study explores the anatomy of superstructures in society and the present state of the Church in the Philippines. The Philippine Bishops recommended “inculturation”. Pope John Paul 11 describes inculturation as “the intimate transformation of authentic cultural values through their integration in Christianity and the insertion of Christianity in the various human cultures.”  In the process of inculturation the church and the culture of a people interact.  The church introduces the Gospel into the life of the people.  It requires evangelizers to immerse themselves in the cultural milieu of those to whom they are sent.  It requires evangelizers to understand, appreciate, foster, and evangelize the culture of the people while equipping themselves to communicate effectively with it [Cf. PCP 11].  This study also explores the Dimensions of Social Justice and The Situations of Injustice: Poverty, Powerlessness and Underdevelopment
