    [abstract] => This paper examines the pattern of migration in Madhya Pradesh. It tries to explore ground realities concerning migration and its impact on the livelihood of migrants in Madhya Pradesh. The historical view reveals that migrants are among the poorest and the backward section of the society and the search for better work opportunities, improved livelihood and higher wages led people to migrate from rural to urban regions.
