Abstract
Employee performance and job satisfaction are critical factors influencing organizational success. Rewards and recognition systems play a significant role in motivating employees and improving their productivity. This study reviews existing literature to examine how financial and non-financial rewards influence employee performance and job satisfaction. Previous research highlights the importance of both intrinsic and extrinsic motivational factors in enhancing employee engagement, commitment, and retention. Financial incentives such as salaries, bonuses, and promotions contribute to employee satisfaction, while non-financial rewards including recognition, career development opportunities, and supportive work environments significantly improve motivation and long-term performance. The literature also indicates that job satisfaction acts as a mediating factor between rewards and employee performance. Furthermore, fair and transparent reward systems strengthen employee trust and organizational commitment. Overall, organizations that implement balanced reward and recognition systems achieve higher productivity, improved employee morale, and reduced turnover. The findings emphasize the need for organizations to design strategic reward systems that integrate both financial and non-financial incentives to enhance employee motivation and organizational effectiveness.
