Abstract
This research paper examines the impact of entrepreneurship development on women's empowerment through a comprehensive analysis of 436 women entrepreneurs in Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu. The study adopts a mixed-method research approach combining quantitative and qualitative data to examine the relationship between entrepreneurial activities and women’s socio-economic empowerment. The research focuses on factors such as financial independence, decision-making authority, social status, work-life balance, and the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs. The results indicate that entrepreneurship significantly contributes to women's economic independence and enhances their social standing. However, women entrepreneurs still face barriers such as limited access to finance, gender discrimination, and work-family conflicts. The study concludes with policy recommendations aimed at strengthening entrepreneurship development programs in Tamil Nadu, particularly in Dindigul district.
