Abstract
In the digital transformation and data-driven decision-making paradigm, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems have become an essential tool in the quest to optimize inventory management and minimize business operating costs. Among the different measures of inventory performance, inventory accuracy and the inventory turnover ratio have become essential indicators to reflect the performance of the inventory control system. Despite their significant role in measuring the performance of the inventory system, limited analytical studies have been conducted to examine the direct relationship between ERP system implementation and inventory cost in an integrated business system.
This research aims to examine the relationship between ERP system implementation and inventory performance through a data-centric approach by integrating different key performance indicators in the inventory system, such as the inventory turnover ratio, carrying cost, inventory accuracy, and order fulfillment rate. The research also aims to examine different factors affecting the efficiency of the inventory system, such as system integration capabilities, process automation levels, data accuracy levels, and system adoption levels.
