Abstract
In India, rural households rely heavily on the agriculture sector for their livelihood. The income and expenditure patterns of these households have a significant impact on this sector. Rural households earn from both agricultural and non-agricultural activities. The current study aims to analyze households' income sources as well as their income and expenditure patterns. The study is based on data from the 77th round of the Situation Assessment Survey of Agricultural Households, Land and Livestock Holdings of Households in Rural India (2019). The study includes six states of northern India.
