Research findings indicate that fluoroquinolones like ciprofloxacin, ofloxacin, and levofloxacin demonstrate effectiveness in managing infections caused by hepatitis C virus (HCV) and BK virus in individuals who have undergone organ transplantation. However, the therapeutic efficacy of these antibiotics may be constrained in patients with advanced liver cirrhosis. Furthermore, fluoroquinolones have exhibited inhibitory effects on viral replication in experimental laboratory settings.
