    [abstract] => Governance Dynamics and Leadership Experiences of Women Panchayat Presidents in Mandya District, Karnataka. They study the factors that might shape their roles, challenges, and contributions to rural development in the socio-political and cultural context. Results demonstrate how difficult women are able to bring change in politics due to the dual barriers from gender bias and institutional constraints. However, they give examples of how transformational leadership could guide local governance and development processes. This study highlights the significance of capacity building among female leaders in grassroots institutions. It makes specific recommendations for enhancing their effectiveness and engagement within Panchayati Raj Institutions.
