    [abstract] => The combination of Ayurvedic and Western medical systems in India provides great prospects for tackling the rise in diseases. Ayurveda’s holistic approach, which encompasses the mind, body and environment, fully integrates into contemporary health and nutrition and offers a sustainable solution for managing conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, antimicrobial resistance and nutrition deficiency etc. This paper explores the integration of Ayurveda with Contemporary healthcare systems for dealing with diseases and other modern health issues in need, particularly in rural and marginalized areas, while contributing to the global sustainability goals. Adopting a theoretical perspective, the study reviews existing literature, expert opinions and key insights on Ayurveda and sustainable healthcare systems. The paper highlights the importance of developing policy frameworks that support the safe, effective and sustainable integration of Ayurvedic practices alongside modern medicine. This research advocates for collaboration across disciplines in Ayurveda and modern medicine to generate an equitable, robust health system that responds to social disparities and the broad healthcare needs of different populations.
