This study aims to answer the following: (1) What are the social themes or ideologies showned in Filipino films related to the reality of PWDs? (2) How are the experiences and personalities of people with disabilities (PWDs) portrayed in films? at (3) How does the film match or differ from the actual experiences of people with disabilities? This study used a qualitative-descriptive design, and data were gathered through film analysis and interviews with four (4) selected PWDs using convenience sampling. Thematic analysis and discussion using realism, sociological, and humanism theories revealed two main themes: (1) discrimination; prejudice, and lack of justice and (2) the support, care, and recognition of the capabilities of PWDs. In Miracle in Cell No. 7, injustice is highlighted, while in Isa Pa with Feelings, success and dignity are emphasized. It was also shown that the experiences of PWDs in the film reflect the reality of PWD. Overall, Filipino films serve as a reflection of both the challenges and inspirations of PWDs. These findings suggest a more just and sensitive representation to avoid stereotyping.
