    [abstract] => Witnessing a constant and growing importance, personality traits has been emerged as one of the most effective determining factors of Second Language Acquisition (SLA). The objective of the present study is to make a quantitative research intending to identify the difference in personality traits of the final year undergraduate students of Burdwan and Purulia, in terms of their gender and place of residence. The population of the study comprises all the final year students (majoring English) of the degree colleges of Burdwan and Purulia districts of West Bengal. The researchers have adopted the descriptive survey type method to conduct the research. The sample of the study includes 180 final year students (majoring English) of the degree colleges of Burdwan and Purulia districts. The investigators have collected data using Simple random sampling method. The researchers have used a self developed Personality Traits Measurement Inventory, constructed on the basis of Five Factor (Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism) Model. SPSS version 26.0 has been used to analyze the collected data. The findings of the study revealed that there is no significant difference in Personality Traits between male and female final year students of the degree colleges of Burdwan and Purulia districts of West Bengal in regard to their gender and place of residence.
