    [abstract] => This article examines German functional-semantic adjectives with the meaning of human characteristics. The mechanism of word-formation means used to form functional-semantic adjectives characterizing a person is established, and the characteristics of the lexical-semantic groups (LSG) that produce their bases are also highlighted. It is noted that the main specific features of adjectives lie not so much in the field of syntax, but in the field of semantics and pragmatics.
