    [abstract] => The article discusses the features of teaching Russian as a foreign language to students of the University of Economics. The Uzbek system of pedagogical education of Russian as a foreign language, which has a high mobilization potential from the position of a participant in the educational process, is analyzed.
It is noted that recently the importance of studying Russian in the country has increased significantly. Russian as a foreign language is one of the two best languages studied in Uzbek universities. An attempt is made to substantiate the reasons why economics students prefer to study Russian.
The main methods and techniques of teaching the language, as well as additional activities within the Russian language circle, increasing the motivation and quality of student learning, are described.
