This study determined the significance of mental imagery and goal-setting as predictors of self-confidence using the predictive research design. A multiple linear regression analysis was utilized, involving 150 samples selected through simple random sampling. Mental imagery and goal-setting significantly predict self-confidence with a 48.6% combined degree of influence. Behavioral goal-setting theory is affirmed. Conduct research utilizing other variables not covered in the study to account for the 51.4% variance in the criterion variable. Further, examine policies to promote self-confidence – improving overall health, well-being, and educational outcomes of student-athletes.
