Cosmetics are any substance or unit doses intended to be applied on the entire exterior of the human body including teeth and mucous membrane around the mouth. As per section 3 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940 and Rules 1945, cosmetics means any article intended to be rubbed, poured, sprinkled or sprayed on, or introduced into, or other wise applied to, the human body or any part there of for cleaning , beauty flying , promoting attractiveness, or altering the appearance, and includes any article intended for use as a component of cosmetic.
