Abstract
This study examined the impact of educational advancement on the work performance of Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs) at Camp Olivas, Pampanga, using an explanatory sequential mixed-methods design. Quantitative analysis utilized the Individual Performance Evaluation Report (IPER) of 34 PNCOs (13 master’s and 21 bachelor’s degree holders) for the 1st Semester of 2024. Mann–Whitney U tests revealed that bachelor’s degree holders scored higher in Output and Job Knowledge, while master’s degree holders performed significantly better in Work Management and Interpersonal Relationship. Medium effect sizes (r ≈ 0.36) confirmed the influence of graduate education across most dimensions.
The qualitative phase, analyzed through Braun and Clarke’s (2006) framework, identified challenges such as time constraints, financial burdens, and fatigue, but also highlighted benefits like leadership development, strategic competence, and personal-professional growth. Findings informed the proposed Strategic Graduate Education Enhancement Program (SGEEP), aimed at fostering educational opportunities and enhancing organizational performance.
