    [abstract] =>  Fire safety remains a pressing concern in densely populated urban communities, particularly in Barangay Tangos North, Navotas City. This study assessed the level of awareness and implementation of fire safety practices among residents, focusing on prevention, suppression, and evacuation, and examined whether significant differences exist when respondents are grouped according to demographic characteristics such as age, gender, education, homeownership, household size, and past fire experience. Using a quantitative causal design, a structured questionnaire was administered to 200 residents selected through stratified random sampling, and data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, the Kruskal-Wallis test, and correlation analysis. Findings revealed that respondents showed moderate awareness in fire prevention and suppression, while awareness of evacuation procedures was high. Implementation of prevention and suppression was reported as fully practiced, while evacuation measures were only moderately applied. Gender was found to influence confidence in evacuation, prior fire experience significantly affected suppression awareness, and homeownership status shaped evacuation preparedness, with homeowners displaying stronger implementation than renters. These results highlight strengths in preventive and suppression practices but also expose critical gaps in evacuation readiness, particularly among vulnerable groups. The study contributes to a clearer understanding of how demographic factors influence fire safety and provides an empirical basis for the development of targeted, community-specific fire prevention and response programs.
