Abstract
Libraries have evolved into hybrid information environments that include digital and print resources due to the fast development of ICTs. To create a hybrid collection, librarians combine traditional print items like books and periodicals with digital resources like e-books, online databases, digital repositories, and multimedia content. Innovative categorization approaches that combine conventional systems with current digital technologies are necessary for organizing such various forms. In order to efficiently manage hybrid collections, contemporary libraries have embraced new categorization procedures, which are the subject of this research paper. While metadata standards, faceted categorization, and digital discovery methods are emphasized, the research emphasizes the ongoing usefulness of classic classification schemes like the Library of Congress categorization (LCC) and Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC). In order to improve information accessibility and user experience in the current age, the results suggest that it is vital to effectively integrate conventional and digital categorization systems
