Abstract
Recruitment and selection are important functions of Human Resource Management that help organizations identify, attract, and retain qualified employees. Recruitment refers to the process of searching for and encouraging suitable candidates to apply for jobs in an organization. Selection is the process of choosing the most suitable candidate from the applicants. Effective recruitment and selection processes help organizations improve productivity, reduce employee turnover, and achieve organizational goals efficiently. In today’s competitive business environment, companies focus on hiring talented employees who can contribute to long-term growth and development. A systematic recruitment and selection process also ensures fairness, transparency, and equal employment opportunities within the organization. The recruitment and selection process involves several stages such as manpower planning, job analysis, sourcing candidates, screening applications, conducting interviews, testing candidates, and final appointment. Organizations use both internal and external recruitment methods to attract employees. Internal recruitment motivates existing employees by providing promotion opportunities, while external recruitment brings fresh talent and innovative ideas into the organization. Proper selection methods help organizations appoint employees with the right skills, knowledge, and attitude required for organizational success.
