Abstract
The thesis explores the adoption of financial technology {fintech} apps among older age populations, focusing on factors influencing adoption, challenges faced, and strategies for promoting adoption. A mixed-methods approach is employed, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques to gather insights from older adults aged 50 and above. The study identifies demographic, socioeconomic, and technological factors influencing fintech adoption, explores perceptions and attitudes towards fintech apps, and examines barriers to adoption such as usability, security, and trust issues. Additionally, facilitators and strategies for promoting adoption are discussed, including educational programs, user-friendly design, and peer support networks. Case studies of successful fintech adoption initiatives targeting older adults are presented to illustrate effective approaches. The findings contribute to theoretical advancements in technology adoption among older adults and provide practical recommendations for fintech developers, financial institutions, and policymakers to enhance accessibility and usability for older age populations. Addressing the digital divide in financial services is emphasized as crucial for promoting financial inclusion and social equity among older adults in an increasingly digital world
