Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the register language of farmers in the Sogod Bay Area of Southern Leyte, Philippines. The researcher created a dictionary using the linguistic register that was gathered. This study employed the survey-based descriptive method. The Sogod Bay Area community was the source of the participants. Every participant was a farmer. The towns that are part of the Sogod Bay Area are Padre Burgos, Malitbog, Tomas Oppus, Bontoc, Sogod, Libagon, Liloan, San Francisco, Pintuyan, and San Ricardo. The questionnaire is the instrument used in this study. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the farmers in the Sogod Bay Area of Southern Leyte are the source of language registers. The farmers' language registers are divided into ten (10) categories. Plants, tools, harvesting, cooking, soil types, labor, animals, insects, food preparation, and animal command fall under these areas. The registers of language among the farmers in the Sogod Bay Area have almost different terms in ten towns, and there are also some similar terms, but only a few. A glossary of language registers of farmers in the analysis of phonological and morphological forms to better describe the characteristics of the language of the Sogod Bay Area of Southern Leyte, for teachers to use local terms such as the developed output as a basis for teaching when the subject is register, and to conduct further studies of languages among farmers in other parts of Southern Leyte.
