Abstract
The science of Visha (toxicology) has been an integral part of traditional medical systems, offering significant insights into the diagnosis and management of toxicological conditions. Rooted in ancient Ayurvedic texts, these approaches combine knowledge of natural elements, human physiology, and pathology to understand and address the effects of toxins. This study explores the relevance of classical diagnostic methods in modern toxicology by analyzing traditional texts and reviewing contemporary research. The findings highlight a structured approach involving keen observational skills, clinical signs (Lakshanas) and holistic evaluations of physical and mental states. Techniques such as assessing skin changes, bodily secretions, and behavior are emphasized, aligning with modern toxicological principles. This study underscores the potential of integrating ancient diagnostic wisdom with modern tools to create innovative, sustainable strategies for toxin evaluation and management. Bridging these two paradigms offers a comprehensive framework for advancing toxicological practices.
