Abstract
With the rise of social media platforms, Instagram has become one of the most popular channels for sharing personal content and engaging with global communities. However, as the platform grows, so do concerns over data privacy and security. This study investigates users' perception of data privacy and security on Instagram, especially focusing on how users understand and manage their personal information shared on the platform. Data has been collected through a survey method by random sampling by questionnaire (made in Google form). A total of 100 responses were collected and analysed. While doing research, we found that users' awareness of Instagram's privacy settings, their trust in the platform’s security measures and their general concerns regarding data breaches and the use of personal data. The study underscores the need for improved user education and stronger data protection to address privacy concerns and enhance trust in the platform. It concludes that for Instagram to maintain its popularity and user base, it must prioritize a more secure digital environment.
