Abstract
In this study, we evaluated the association of Arg506Gln polymorphism of the F5 gene in the development of myocardial infarction (MI) in patients with COVID-19 coronavirus infection. A comparative analysis of the genotypes of the Arg506Gln polymorphism of the F5 gene in each subgroup of patients with MI yielded the following results. Compared with controls, a subgroup of patients with COVID-19 associated MI showed a significant increase in the content of the unfavorable Arg/Gln genotype (11.3% vs. 1.1% at χ2=7.5; p=0.01; OR=11, 4; 95% CI: 1.99-64.92), which represents a high risk of developing myocardial infarction, by 11.4 times.
