Abstract
This study analyzed the implementation of the Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health (MAPEH) program in selected junior high schools of Rizal District, Schools Division of Cagayan. Specifically, it examined the extent of implementation in terms of program objectives, curriculum, learning resources, teachers’ qualification and competency, administrative support, funding, and community partnership. It also determined whether a significant difference existed between the assessments of teachers and administrators and identified the challenges encountered in the program’s implementation. The study employed a descriptive-correlational research design using survey checklists, observations, and interviews as data-gathering tools. The respondents included junior high school MAPEH teachers and school administrators. Findings revealed that the MAPEH program was highly implemented as assessed by both groups of respondents. Teachers gave the program a grand mean of 4.08, while administrators gave a grand mean of 3.94, both interpreted as highly implemented. Program objectives and curriculum received the highest ratings, while funding was identified as the lowest-rated component. The test of significant difference showed no significant difference between the assessments of teachers and administrators, indicating that both groups shared similar views regarding the implementation of the program. The major challenges encountered included insufficient funding, inadequate facilities, limited teacher competency across all MAPEH components, restricted student engagement during the pandemic, and difficulty in conducting online MAPEH activities. Based on the findings, the study concludes that the MAPEH program is effectively implemented in the selected junior high schools; however, improvements in funding, facilities, teacher training, and student engagement strategies are necessary to further strengthen its delivery and sustainability.
