Abstract
Salivary gland imaging plays a vital role in the diagnosis and management of various glandular disorders, including sialolithiasis, inflammatory diseases, and neoplastic conditions. A range of imaging modalities, such as conventional radiography, ultrasonography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and nuclear medicine techniques, are used to evaluate glandular structure, ductal anatomy, and functional status. Ultrasonography is commonly used as the first-line modality, while CT and MRI provide detailed assessment of deep lesions and tumor spread. Emerging technologies, including MR sialography, contrast- enhanced ultrasound, artificial intelligence, and hybrid imaging, are enhancing diagnostic precision and facilitating minimally invasive treatment planning for improved patient outcomes.
